Acrylic Paintings

Here are a few of my acrylics. Acrylic is a versatile medium and can be used in many ways. It comes in four or five different consitencies from liquid ink to extremely thick. This means that it can be applied in a variety of ways from watercolour-like washes to a thick, sculpted surface. Here are some different styles.

Tryfan

Tryfan is my favourite mountain. In this picture I have used.a fairly intricate style which looks detailed but isn't. This painting is for sale at £200. It is a fairly large box canvas so we would need to talk about shipping costs.

Narberth Castle

This one is painted on primed watercolour paper. It is in a much looser style, The paint is applied quite thickly in a more impressionistic style.

It is for sale in the shop for £75.00.

Llyn Tegid
(Bala Lake)

I am lucky enough to live less than hour from Bala and I have pained it many times from various viewpoints. This one is painted in a more vibrant style to capture the beautiful April afternoon. I worked from sketches and photos made from a layby. This one is £100 in the shop

Fucsia

This isn't in the shop but if you are interested email me, it's only £30!

Ive included it to show how delicate acrylics can be when used in transparent washes,

Afternoon Sun
Bonc yr Hafod

In this one I have used bright colours with lots of contrast to capture the effect of a shaft of sunlight breaking through a stormy sky.

Yellow Sky

This is one of my abstract landscapes. It shows how good acrylics are for rendering solid blocks of colour
